Hugh Edward Porter
January 21, 1928 - January 12, 2012
Hugh Edward Porter, 83, crossed over Thursday, January 12, 2012. He was born in Gwinnett County, son of the late Lloyd Doyle and Millie Mae Edmondson Porter. He was a United States Coast Veteran and worked for over forty years with General Motors in Doraville, GA retiring as a general superintendant. Mr. Porter was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his daughter, Carol June Porter Bailey of Savannah, GA; his beloved, June of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Wyman James Bailey of Savannah, GA; Emily Ryan Porter of Athens, GA; Elena Marie Porter of Haslet, TX; sister, Jean Estes, brother, Everette Porter both of the Atlanta area and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Dunwoody Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
